Leicester City reportedly tell Manchester United that it would take a world-record bid of up to £90m to prise Harry Maguire away from the King Power Stadium this summer.

Leicester City have reportedly told Manchester United that it would take a world-record bid of up to £90m to prise Harry Maguire away from the King Power Stadium this summer.

United are understood to have made the 26-year-old their number one transfer target when the window reopens at the end of the season, having failed in their attempts to sign him after the World Cup last year.

Initial reports suggested that the Red Devils were hopeful of landing Maguire with a bid of around £65m, but the Daily Star claims that such a fee would still be some way short of Leicester's valuation.

The Foxes turned down a £75m offer from United last summer and have now said that it would take a world-record sum of at least £80m before they even consider selling the England international.

That fee could rise to £90m before Leicester agree terms, having tied Maguire down to a new long-term contract last September.

United have also been linked with a host of other defensive targets, including Kalidou Koulibaly, Toby Alderweireld, Milan Skriniar and Kostas Manolas.
