Leeds United move into 14th position in the Premier League table with a 4-2 victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds United have moved into 14th position in the Premier League table courtesy of a 4-2 victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.

Jack Harrison, Luke Ayling, Rasmus Kristensen and Rodrigo were all on the scoresheet for the Whites, who led 3-0 just past the hour, before Jonny Castro netted for Wolves shortly after.

The home side then scored a second through Matheus Cunha in the 74th minute, but Rodrigo netted a fourth for Leeds in the final exchanges to secure an important three points at Molineux, with the result moving the Whites two points clear of the relegation zone.

Leeds took the lead in the sixth minute of the contest, with Willy Gnonto breaking past Nelson Semedo before delivering low into Harrison, who found the roof of the net with an impressive strike.

Wolves had a strong shout for a penalty in the eighth minute when Junior Firpo appeared to foul Semedo inside the box, but the referee was not interested and VAR agreed with the decision.

The hosts should have been level in the 26th minute when Max Kilman delivered a brilliant cross into the Leeds box, which fell for Semedo, but Maximilian Wober was on hand to make a brilliant block.

Wolves came close again in the 32nd minute, with Ruben Neves's strike from distance just dropping wide of the post, as Leeds survived another dangerous moment at Molineux.

Craig Dawson was perhaps fortunate to only receive a yellow card for a poor challenge on Harrison late in the first period, before Leeds passed up two good opportunities from free kicks, with Harrison's goal ultimately separating the two teams at the half-time break.

Wolves had the ball in the back of the Leeds net early in the second period through Mario Lemina, but the midfielder was clearly in an offside position.

The game's second goal did arrive shortly after, and it came for Leeds, with Ayling heading home at the far post after Marc Roca had delivered a dangerous corner into the penalty box.

Harrison then had one cleared off the line just before the hour, as the visitors came close to taking the match away from Wolves with little over 30 minutes of normal time remaining at Molineux.

Leeds did score a third in the 62nd minute, though, with Kristensen drilling one into the bottom corner after some lacklustre defending from Jonny.

The Wolves defender made up for it down the other end shortly after, with the Spaniard finding the back of the net with a brilliant volley from distance after Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier had vacated his goal.

Meslier made a brilliant save to prevent Raul Jimenez from making it 3-2 in the 71st minute, but the home side did have their second two minutes later through Cunha, who managed to find the back of the net from inside the box, with his effort deflecting off Wober and past Meslier.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men in the 84th minute when Jonny was sent off for a late challenge on Ayling, and Wolves could not find a leveller at Molineux, with Leeds making sure of the points by scoring a fourth in the seventh minute of added time through Rodrigo, with the goal standing following a lengthy VAR check.

Julen Lopetegui's side then had another player sent off in the closing stages, with Matheus Nunes handed a red card for dissent despite not being on the field of play.

Wolves will be bidding to bounce back from the disappointing loss when they head to Nottingham Forest on April 1, while Leeds will next be in action away to Arsenal on the same afternoon.
