Bolton Wanderers plan to appoint Sam Allardyce as their manager at the end of the season, according to a report.
The Sun reports that Owen Coyle, who has been in discussion about his future with club owner Eddie Davies and chairman Phil Gartside, will lose his job at the Reebok Stadium.
Coyle will be replaced possibly by Sammy Lee as the caretaker manager for the rest of the season, after which Bolton will apparently try to appoint Allardyce, who managed the Trotters between 1999 and 2007.
Bolton, who suffered relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season, have made a disappointing start to the Championship campaign.
The Trotters lost 2-1 at Millwall on Saturday to slip to 18th in the table.
