Barcelona transfer news: Inter using Ronaldo blueprint for Messi, Coutinho heading to Arsenal

Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Barcelona on Sunday, August 9.

Barcelona kept alive their 2019-20 campaign with an impressive victory over Napoli in Saturday's Champions League last-16 second leg.

The Catalan giants now have a huge quarter-final tie with Bayern Munich to come in five days' time, with boss Quique Setien still very much under pressure.

Barca may well have one eye on the transfer window, too, given that plenty of changes are expected both behind the scenes and on the field this summer.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news from Camp Nou.

Sunday morning's Barcelona transfer talk news roundup:

Inter Milan 'to use Cristiano Ronaldo example as blueprint for Messi move'

Juventus stunned the footballing world two years ago when signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid in a £98m transfer.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, bitter rivals Inter Milan intended to use a similar strategy to sign fellow superstar forward Lionel Messi from Barcelona.

Messi's future at Camp Nou has been called into question in recent months and the six-time Ballon d'Or winner is yet to pen fresh terms with the Catalan giants.

With his deal to expire in less than a year's time, Inter are said to be growing confident of striking a deal with the Argentina international.

Arsenal 'agree personal terms with Philippe Coutinho'

Philippe Coutinho's future quite clearly lies away from Catalonia, with Barca hoping to find a new home for the outcast playmaker, ideally on a permanent basis.

The Brazil international has spent 2019-20 on loan with Bayern Munich, but the German champions do not intend to take up the option to sign him.

Arsenal are rumoured to be the frontrunners to land the 28-year-old's signature and, according to Catalan Sport, a transfer is now close to going through.

Coutinho is said to have agreed personal terms with the Gunners over an initial season-long loan deal that would see him return to the Premier League two-and-a-half years after departing Liverpool.
