Right, that's it from Sports Mole on day seven of the French Open. It's been another thrilling day in Paris and tomorrow shows no let up of the quality tennis on offer. Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga are all in action on the men's side, while Victoria Azarenka, Sam Stosur and Petra Martic will feature for the women. Thank you very much for your company and we hope to see you tomorrow. Au revoir!

What a disappointing way to end for Goerges. She double-faults and sends Rus through to the last 16 in the process. The world number 88 showed great determination out there today and did well to overcome a similarly tenacious competitor.

RESULT: Rus 7-6[5] 2-6 6-2 Goerges

20.32: Back to deuce. I get the feeling that these two aren't that keen on each other. I'm definitely detecting some tension out there.

20.30: Goerges whacks her backhand into the net and Kanepi is on match point.

20.28: However, Rus may want to finish this off sooner rather than later as the light fades in Paris...

20.27: Goerges was on break point there, but Rus fought back to hold and move to within a game of the next round.

20.22: Goerges is pumping her fist as she holds serve to love. She doesn't think that she's out of this one yet.

20.17: That leaves one match for today as Aranxta Rus takes on Julia Goerges. It's into the third set and Rus leads 4-1. Can the German turn it around?

She's done it! Wozniacki makes the error and Kanepi is through to the last 16. Despite a stunning comeback from Wozniacki in the second, no one would begrudge the world number 23 her victory. File this under 'minor shock'.

RESULT: Wozniacki 1-6 7-6[3]3-6 Kanepi

20.14: Rus looks on her way to the last 16 with a 4-1 lead in the third against Goerges.

20.11: Kanepi slaps her shot long to give Wozniacki a hold. Can the Estonian now serve out the match?

20.08: Neither player seems to be able to clinch this game as Wozniacki and Kanepi go back and forth on deuce.

20.06: That could be crucial. Rus breaks Goerges to take a 3-1 lead in the final set of their match.

20.01: Not another comeback from Wozniacki, surely? Kanepi hits long and gives the Dane the break. It's now 5-2 to the Estonian.

19.58:...but she double-faults! Back to deuce.

19.57: Kanepi has match point...

19.54: Kanepi breaks again! She just needs to hold to book her place in the next round...

That was incredible effort from Mathieu to pull it back to 2-2, but Granollers-Pujol had that extra bit of stamina to progress. He will play fellow Spaniard David Ferrer for a place in the quarter-finals.

RESULT: Granollers-Pujol 6-4 6-4 1-6 4-6 6-1 Mathieu

19.50: Neither player really had the ball under control in that game, but Kanepi manages to hold serve and establish a 4-1 lead. I can't imagine that she'll be counting her chickens though after being 5-1 ahead in the second...

19.44: SET! Goerges levels things up in her match with Rus by clinching the second 6-2.

19.43: Oh my word! Wozniacki has a simple volley at the net, but she puts it wide and gives Kanepi the break. The Estonian leads 3-1.

19.39: We now move to Court Suzanne Lenglen to join Kaia Kanepi and Caroline Wozniacki. This match has been quite unpredictable so far and it's 2-1 to Kanepi in the third. Wozniacki to serve.

That was what's known in the business as a humdinger. Both players gave their all out there, but it was Monaco's experience which eventually saw him through. His reward? A last-16 tie with Rafael Nadal on Monday...

RESULT: Monaco 6-7[5] 6-3 6-7[5] 6-3 6-4 Raonic

19.33: Monaco moves on to match point...

19.31: Granollers-Pujol finds what could be a crucial break of serve against Mathieu to go 3-1 up in the fifth.

19.30: It was close for a minute there, but Raonic holds and puts the pressure on Monaco to serve for a place in the last 16.

19.26: Raonic puts his forehand long and now needs to hold serve to stay in the match. Monaco takes a 5-3 lead.

19.24: Goerges breaks again to go 3-0 up in the second against Rus.

19.22: Raonic, who is giving everything out there, holds serve. Monaco will now serve to put himself 5-3 ahead.

19.20: If you're wearing a hat, take it off for Caroline Wozniacki. She was all but dead and buried in the second set against Kaia Kanepi but has won the tie-break 7-3 to push it the distance.

18.19: Monaco holds to make it 4-2 in the fifth.

19.18: Goerges gets off to a blazing start in the second set against Rus as the German breaks in the first game.

19.14: Raonic hits his 24th ace of the match to keep the pressure on Monaco. The Argentine now leads 3-2.

19.13: SET! Rus 7-6[5] Georges

19.11: Monaco uses his reliable serve to go 3-1 ahead in the fifth. Meanwhile, we're into a tie-break between Wozniacki and Kanepi. Tense stuff...

19.10: SET! It will go to five sets between Mathieu and Granollers-Pujol. The Frenchman looked down and out after losing the first two, but he has taken the fourth 6-4.

19.06: Right, we'll now be turning our attention to Juan Monaco's match with Milos Raonic. Monaco has broken to lead 2-1 in the fifth set.

19.05: After all of that hard work, Wozniacki is broken again which means that Kanepi will serve for the match.

19.04: We're into a first-set tie-break between Rus and Goerges...

There was some gallant play from Schwank in that match, but Nadal does what he does best and wins yet again on clay. It was take something special to stop the Spaniard from claiming a record seventh title here at Roland Garros.

RESULT: Nadal 6-1 6-3 6-4 Schwank

18.59: Schwank holds so Nadal will serve for the match.

18.56: Would you believe it? Wozniacki was 5-1 down in the second set against Kanepi and looked to be heading out of the tournament, but she's now pulled it back to 5-5.

18.55: A love service game for Nadal puts him a game away from the last 16.

18.54: Rus and Goerges are swinging one way then the other in their opening set. Goerges broke for a second time against her Dutch opponent, but Rus has broken back. She will now serve to make it 5-5.

18.50: Schwank, who has been trying to whip the crowd up, records a love service game to go 3-4.

18.49: Maybe it's not all over for Wozniacki. The Dane breaks Kanepi for the first time in the match to make it 3-5 in the second.

18.48: It's all so easy for Nadal as he goes 4-2 ahead in the third. The finishing line is in sight now for the six-time winner.

18.45: Goerges breaks back in her match against Rus to make it 3-3 in the opening set.

18.43: Schwanks holds to make it 2-3 in the third. Nadal to serve.

18.40: SET! We're going to go the distance with Monaco and Raonic. The Argentine claims the fourth set 6-3 to level the match. Fifth set, here we come.

18.38: That's so clinical from Nadal. The world number two thumps a forehand into the corner and goes 3-1 up in the third. It's only a matter of time now, I should imagine.

18.33: Kanepi breaks Wozniacki again! The Estonian is having the time of her life out there and now only needs two more games to record a memorable victory.

18.32: Nadal takes control. Schwank hits a flimsy shot into the net to give the Spaniard a break. He leads 2-1 in the third.

18.28: A mean serve from Nadal forces Schwank into the error. It's now 1-1 in the third.

18.24: Wozniacki looks to be in real trouble now. Already a set down, she's broken by Kanepi. The Estonian will serve for a 3-1 lead in the second.

18.23: Schwank gets the ball rolling in the third set as he holds serve.

18.22: SET! There's life in Mathieu's match with Granollers as the Frenchman claims the third set 6-1. He's now only one set behind.

18.21: Monaco is now 4-1 up in the fourth set against Raonic.

18.18: SET! Schwank puts his forehand long and it's Nadal who takes the second set. The Argentine put up some resistance there, but the Spaniard now leads 6-1 6-3.

18.15: Arantxa Rus's match with Julia Goerges is now underway...

18.14: Schwank just about manages to hold serve so Nadal will serve for the set.

18.10: Juan Monaco and Milos Raonic continue to have a right old ding-dong in their match as Monaco breaks and finds himself 2-0 in front in the fourth. Can he take the set and level the contest?

18.08: Nadal holds and it is now 5-2 to the Spaniard in the second. There was some marvellous jousting at the net from both players during that service game.

18.06: Despite losing the first two sets, Paul-Henri Mathieu has given himself against Marcel Granollers after racing into a 3-0 lead in the third.

18.03: Do we have a minor shock on the cards here? World number 23 Kaia Kanepi takes the first set against world number nine Caroline Wozniack 6-1.

18.02: Such flattery. Schwank makes it 4-2 in the second as Nadal puts his backhand into the net.

Right, that's me for now. I will be handing you over to my wonderful colleague Jack Prescott for the remainder of today's action!

17.58: Brilliant hold from Nadal as he shuts the door on Schwank by moving 4-1 ahead in the second. Meanwhile, Kanepi will serve for the first set against Wozniacki.

17.56: Schwank is off the mark in the second set against Nadal. However, the Argentine remains 3-1 behind.

17.54: Kanepi remains on control against Wozniacki. The Estonian leads 4-1 in the first.

17.52: SET! Raonic takes the third set 7-6 against Monaco to open up a two-sets-to-one lead.

17.50: Nadal holds serve once more to move 3-0 ahead in the second. Meanwhile, Monaco and Raonic are locked at 5-5 in their third-set tie-break.

17.48: Nadal breaks early in the second. The Spaniard leads 2-0. He has been miles too good for his Argentine opponent thus far.

17.47: SET! Granollers-Pujol has taken the second set 6-4 against Mathieu. The Spaniard leads two-sets-to-nil.

17.46: Meanwhile, the match between Monaco and Raonic has entered a tie-break in the second set.

17.44: Wozniacki is off the mark against Kanepi. However, the Dane trails 3-1.

17.42: Nadal does hold, however, to move 1-0 ahead in the second.

17.41: Nadal is just struggling to finish off Schwank in the opening game of the second set. The pair are level at deuce.

17.39: It's been all Kanepi in the only ladies match currently in action. She leads Wozniacki 3-0 in the opening set.

17.37: It's equally as tight between Granollers-Pujol and Mathieu. The former leads one-set-to-nil, but the pair are locked at 4-4 in the second.

17.36: It's still desperately tight in the match between Monaco and Ranoic. The pair are locked at one-set-all and 5-5 in the second.

17.34: SET! Nadal takes the opening set 6-1 after 46 minutes of tennis. It's just been stunning from the Spaniard.

17.33: Just the singular match yet to get underway on day seven - with Rus facing Goerges in the women's side of the draw.

17.31: Nadal holds serve to move 5-1 ahead in the opener. The Spaniard can wrap this set up with a break of serve.

17.29: Meanwhile, Kanepi has made a strong start against Wozniacki. The Estonian leads 2-0 in the first.

17.27: It's just been ever so slightly wasteful from Nadal in the last few moments. However, he remains in total control.

17.25: Schwank is finally on the scoreboard after 36 minutes. The Argentine trails 4-1 in the first.

17.23: Oh my word, how on earth has Schwank not won that point. The Argentine played at least three winners but Nadal made every single one to eventually take the point.

Women's latest score: Kanepi 1-0 Wozniacki.

Men's latest scores: Monaco 6-7 6-3 4-4 Raonic, Granollers-Pujol 6-4 2-3 Mathieu, Schwank 0-4 Nadal.

17.20: Nadal is making every single shot in the early stages. It's just incredible tennis.

17.18: Nadal does hold serve, however, to move 4-0 ahead. Meanwhile, Kanepi vs. Wozniacki is underway.

17.16: It remains deuce in the fourth game between Nadal and Schwank. The Argentine has just raised his level somewhat.

17.14: Nadal has just dropped his level somewhat in the last few moments. Meanwhile, Granollers-Pujol vs. Mathieu remains on serve in the second.

17.12: Wow, Nadal smashes the net from close range when it looked easier to find the open court. Break-point Schwank.

17.10: Nadal just keeps coming at the Argentine like a steam train. He just doesn't let up, doesn't give you a moment.

17.08: Meanwhile, Raonic leads Monaco 3-2 in the third with the pair level at one-set-all.

17.06: Nadal finally secures the double-break with a wonderful forehand. The Spaniard leads 3-0 in the first after 18 minutes.

17.04: Schwank continues to play delicate drop shots as he impresses in the early stages.

17.02: Really bright serving from Schwank early on as he staves off another break point to move advantage ahead.

17.00: Meanwhile, Schwank saves three break points to level it at 40-40 in the third game.

16.58: It remains as tight as you like between Monaco and Raonic with the pair locked at one-set-all and 1-1 in the third.

16.56: So there we have it. Gasquet will face Murray in the fourth round following his victory over Haas. Meanwhile, Nadal has taken a 2-0 lead over Schwank.

Result: Gasquet 6-7 6-3 6-0 6-0 Haas

16.56: Wonderfully measured point from Nadal as he moves 40-15 ahead in the second game. I just cannot make a case for his opponent today.

16.54: Strong early hold from Raonic in his match with Monaco. The pair are level at one-set-all.

16.52: Not the greatest of starts for Schwank as Nadal secures an early break in the match. Meanwhile, it's now 5-0 Gasquet.

16.51: Gasquet breaks Haas once more to move 4-0 ahead in the fourth. The Frenchman is well on course for the fourth round.

16.49: Here we go then. Schwank vs. Nadal.

16.47: Meanwhile, wonderful tennis from Haas and Gasquet as the German levels it at 40-40 with a beautiful forehand.

16.45: SET! Monaco has taken the second set 6-3 against Raonic. The pair are level at one-set-all.

16.43: SET! Granollers-Pujol has taken the opening set 6-4 against Mathieu.

16.41: Gasquet has taken another early break against Haas. The Frenchman leads 3-0 in the fourth.

16.39: We will be staying with Gasquet and Haas for the moment. We will then switch our attention to a certain Spaniard who I believe is called Nadal.

16.37: Monaco is just a singular point away from securing the second set against Raonic. Meanwhile, Mathieu is serving to stay in the set against Granollers-Pujol.

16.35: Still no women's matches currently in progress - I am not ignoring the ladies I promise.

16.33: Really is all Gasquet now as he takes the opening game of the fourth set. Meanwhile, Monaco leads Raonic 5-2 in the second.

16.31: SET! Gasquet secures the third set 6-0 against Haas to move two-sets-to-one ahead. Remember, the winner of this match will face Murray in the fourth round.

16.28: Gasquet really does have such an elegant backhand. It is extremely rare to see the one-handed backhand in the men's game. However, he uses it with such grace.

16.26: Just beautiful tennis from Gasquet as he releases a one-handed backhand into the far corner. The Frenchman leads 5-0 in the third.

16.24: Really impressive stuff from Gasquet as he breaks to move 4-0 ahead. Meanwhile, Monaco has broken early in the second against Raonic.

16.21: We will be switching our focus to Haas vs. Gasquet. The pair remain at one-set-all, but 0-4 Gasquet in the third.

16.15: Gasquet has broken early in the third set against Haas. The Frenchman leads 2-0. Meanwhile, Sharapova holds serve to move 5-1 ahead.

16.13: It remains pretty much as expected between Granollers-Pujol and Mathieu. The pair are tied at 2-2 in the first.

16.11: Peng does hold. However, her Russian opponent remains a double-break ahead in the second.

16.09: It's been a spirited performance from Peng, but she is up against arguably currently the best female tennis player. It's just all been too much.

16.07: SET! Gasquet breaks Haas to take the second set 6-3. The pair are tied at one-set-all.

16.06: Sharapova holds serve to move 4-0 ahead in the second. The Russian is just two games away now. Meanwhile, Mathieu leads Granollers-Pujol 2-1 in the early stages.

16.04: SET! Raonic has taken the opening set 7-6 against Monaco. Brilliant from the Canadian.

16.00: Meanwhile, Monaco vs. Raonic remains at 4-4 in the tie-break thus far.

15.58: Let's join that particular women's match with Sharapova in some serious control this afteroon.

15.54: Meanwhile, Monaco vs. Raonic has entered a tie-break in the first set.

15.54: Gasquet breaks! Really big moment for the Frenchman against Haas. Can the home favourite take this second set? He leads 3-2 on serve.

15.52: Sharapova breaks Peng in the opening game of the third. The Russian looks well on course for the next round.

15.50: More from Tim Henman's former coach David Felgate following Murray's win: "It has been a great comeback after what went on the other day [against Jarko Niemenen]. A really good performance, he looked really pumped up at the end. It puts a whole different perspective when you get through the first week and now he can start thinking about his next match."

15.48: Haas and Gasquet remain at 2-2 in the second. You can't help but feel that Gasquet needs to win this set - for confidence alone.

15.46: SET! Sharapova takes the opening set 6-2 against Peng.

15.44: It remains on serve at 5-5 with Monaco and Raonic. The latter is really impressing this year.

15.42: Sharapova will serve for the opening set against Peng in the only ladies match currently in play.

15.40: Haas and Gasquet sit at 1-1 in the second. Meanwhile, Monaco vs. Raonic remains on serve at 4-5.

15.38: So there we have it - Murray secures a spot in the next round after two hours of tennis. There were no signs of any back complaint, as the Scot demolished his South American opponent.

Result: Murray 6-3 6-4 6-4 Giraldo

15.36: Really fine game from Murray as he comes to the net to move 15-0 ahead. It was quickly 30-0 as Giraldo could only fire wide. Meanwhile, the Scot made it 40-0 as the Colombian fired long once more. Giraldo did cut the score to 40-15, but a wonderful backhand secured the win.

15.34: Spirited from Giraldo as the Colombian holds serve. However, Murray will now serve for a spot in the fourth round.

15.32: Suddenly all Giraldo's big shots are missing as Murray holds to love to move 5-3 ahead in the third.

15.31: SET Haas takes the opening set against Gasquet 7-6. Meanwhile, Peng has broken back against Sharapova.

15.31: It continues to remain on serve between Monaco and Raonic. Meanwhile, Haas leads Gasquet 5-2 in the tie-break.

15.29: Murray breaks! There it is, he takes advantage of his third break point to move 4-3 ahead in the third.

15.27: Brilliant rally between Giraldo and Murray as the latter produces two defensive shots to stay in the point. However, Giraldo does secure it to level the game at deuce.

15.25: Wonderful from Giraldo as he staves off a break point with a powerful forehand. Meanwhile, Sharapova leads Peng 3-0.

15.23: Haas vs. Gasquet does indeed head for a tie-break in the opening set.

15.23: Easy pickings for Sharapova thus far. The Russian leads Peng 2-0 in the opener. Meanwhile, another love game for Murray as he levels it at 3-3.

15.21: Giraldo holds once more to move 3-2 ahead. Much more of an even encounter now.

15.20: Still Gasquet refuses to blink as he holds serve to lead Haas 6-5. This one seems to be heading for a tie-break.

15.17: Haas does level it up against Gasquet. The pair are locked at 5-5 in the opener. Meanwhile, Murray holds to level it at 2-2 in the first.

15.15: Sharapova's match with Peng has also just begun. That one could turn out to be an interesting encounter.

15.13: Impressive hold from Giraldo as he moves 2-1 ahead in the third set. It's extremely difficult to make a case for the Colombian in this match as a whole. However, I wouldn't bet against him securing this set.

15.11: The match between Monaco and Raonic remains on serve thus far. Meanwhile, Gasquet leads Monaco 4-5 in the opener.

15.09: Beautiful drop shot from Murray as he moves 40-0 ahead on serve. The Scot ties up the game with an ace to level it at 1-1 in the third.

15.07: Giraldo holds after seven deuces to take an early 1-0 lead in the third. Meanwhile, Haas and Gasquet remains on serve at 4-4.

15.06: Meanwhile, Monaco vs. Raonic is also underway.

15.04: Murray moves onto advantage with a wonderful passing shot, but it's quickly deuce once more with the Colombian finding the line. What an incredible opening to the third.

15.02: Brilliant from Giraldo as he releases a powerful forehand to move onto advantage in the point.

15.01: Just the two men's matches currently in action. With Murray leading two-sets-to-nil over Giraldo. Meanwhile, Gasquet leads Haas 4-3 on serve.

14.59: Thanks very much for that Liam! Right let's get straight back into the action.

Well that brings an end to my brief stint. Handing you back to your resident blogger, Mr Law.

14.57: This opening game of the third set between Giraldo and Murray has really been something! It is currently deuce, with the lead having changed hand on numerous occasions.

14.52: Result - Janko Tisparevic 6-3 7-5 6-4 Julien Benneteau

14.51: Gasquet has broken back against Hass with the scores now two games apiece in the opening set. Meanwhile, Giraldo and Murray are back on the clay for the third set.

14.50: Result - Zakopalova 6-3 7-5 Pavlyuchenkova

14.49: Another break for Tipsarevic, who is now serving for the match against Benneteau.

14.47: SET! But then what do I know?! Murray goes from break point down to set point in the blink of an eye! Surely he won't surrender a two-set advantage, will he?!

14.46: But he can only find the net. 40-40. Will Murray punish that mistake? His serve appears to have eluded him.

14.45: A fantastic forehand from Giraldo gives him his first break point of the match - 30-40.

14.44: Murray is currently 15-30 down. Is he going to blow this opportunity to take a 2-0 lead?

14.42: Also, another break on another court - Haas has taken a 2-0 lead over Gasquet in the opening set.

14.41: It appears that Benneteau may have blown his chances after being broke back by Tipsarevic! It is now 4-3 in Benneteau's favour, but now they are back on serve.

14.39: The answer is no! Although Giraldo was made to work hard for his hold after Murray took the game all the way to deuce. Murray will now serve for a two sets to nil lead at 5-4.

14.37: Currently 30-30, can Murray break again to claim the second set?

14.35: Giraldo is now serving to stay in the second set with Murray leading 5-3.

14.32: It is now 4-1 to Benneteau over Tipsarevic in the third set. Don't forget the Frenchman has a lot of work to do, even if he wins this set. He currently trails his Serbian opponent 2-0 in sets.

14.30: Tommy Haas and Richard Gasquet are now underway. The winner will player whoever is victorious from Giraldo vs. Murray.

14.28: Meanwhile, Murray, armed with a new racket, holds his serve to lead 4-2.

14.27: Hang on a minute, I may have been a little hasty in writing Benneteau off! The Frenchman, despite two sets down, has broken Tipsarevic in the third. He leads 3-1.

14.25: Murray's forehand has been almost perfect today, particularly when sending the ball across the court. Real conviction from the man looking for his first Grand Slam title.

14.22: Two break points for Murray...the first of which Giraldo rescues! One remaining. This time Murray is successful. He now leads 3-2.

14.21: Quick switch to Tipsarevic vs. Benneteau. The former currently leads by 2 sets to nil. The third set is currently 2-1 in Benneteau's favour, going with serve.

14.19: Make that two games apiece. Murray was made to work on this occasion though as Giraldo forced a deuce game.

14.16: Murray has finally lost a point on his serve after 22 straight successes! As it stands the score is 2-1 in Giraldo's favour, going with serve.

14.14: So, China's Na comes back from a one-set deficit to ensure that she will be competing next week. Perhaps an outsider for the title?! Match report.

14.13: Result - Li Na 3-6 6-2 6-1 Christina McHale

14.11: Back to all things Murray and the Scot has won 20 straight points on his serve. Impressive work from Britain's number one.

14.10: Fine work from Spaniard Almagro, who dropped just three games in the last two sets to progress at the expense of Almagro. Match report.

14.07: Result - Leonardo Mayer 4-6 1-6 2-6 Nicolas Almagro

14.05: SET! And there is the set for Tipsarevic thanks to a 7-5 success. The Serb now leads Benneteau by 2-0 in sets. Certainly going the way of the top seeds so far today.

It has been a good start, nothing to really fear. Giraldo has a big forehand but I like the way Andy has come out, serving well and looking relaxed. It should be a routine win for him. 11.24: Ferrer has well and truly taken control of the match against Youzhny. He is up an early break in the third. Coming back, everything is perfect.

"I've come back to Paris and remembered what I did last year. It's really tough [to repeat]. Last year was a good year for my tennis but the worst for my life [with all the pressure], a lot changed. For half of the year I didn't do well on court. This year I'm fighting well. Now I'm much, much better in my mind. I'm ready for Roland Garros," she told the BBC.
