Number nine seed Janko Tipsarevic survived an early scare to overcome local boy James Duckworth 3-6 6-2 7-6 6-4 in round two of the Australian Open.
Wildcard Duckworth, making his first appearance in the tournament, took the opening set 6-3 with an impressive performance.
Tipsarevic secured the second, however, albeit with a wobble, before he went ahead in the match courtesy of a tie-break in the third.
Duckworth, ranked 250th in the world, continued to fight until the end but Tipsarevic's quality shone through as he served to secure the match.
Tipsarevic has equalled his best showing in the tournament, making round three for the first time since 2008.
