Wales hooker Richard Hibbard looks likely to miss the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand next month with an ankle injury.
According to Wales Online, the Ospreys front-row picked up the injury during Wales’ 28-13 win over Argentina on Saturday. Scans later revealed that ligaments in his ankle have become detached from the bone.
First-choice hooker Matthew Rees was ruled out of the tournament last week due to a neck problem, meaning that coach Warren Gatland will now need to look for another hooker cover to join Huw Bennett and Lloyd Burns.
"Hibbard will be reviewed on Monday morning by a consultant when further details relating to his injury will be established," a WRU spokesman is quoted as saying.
Gatland will name his 30-man World Cup squad later today (Monday).
