Jim Mallinder hopeful over Ben Foden injury

Northampton director of rugby Jim Mallinder reveals that he is "hopeful" over the ankle injury that Ben Foden picked up during Friday's win at Bath.

Northampton Saints director of rugby Jim Mallinder has revealed that he is "hopeful" that Ben Foden did not suffer a broken ankle in Friday's win at Bath.

England international Foden was taken off during the Saints' 18-14 victory at The Rec.

"It's an ankle injury but I don't know a lot more about it than that," Mallinder said. "The doctor thinks that it's not broken. We're hopeful it's just a strain."

Northampton's triumph over Bath saw them keep up their 100% start to the new season.
