Stuart Lancaster confirms Danny Cipriani is in World Cup contention

Danny Cipriani is free for World Cup selection, confirms England head coach Stuart Lancaster.

England head coach Stuart Lancaster has confirmed that he will consider Danny Cipriani for a place in his final Rugby World Cup squad.

The fly-half was arrested on suspicion of drink driving in June and was released on bail until August.

However, he has been re-bailed until November, and Lancaster insisted that he will be treated like any other member of the squad.

He is quoted as saying by The Guardian: "We weren't in control of the initial date and we certainly weren't in control of this date. It's been extended by the police so we'll wait and see.

"He's not been charged by the police. He's here as a bona fide member of the squad and will be judged accordingly."

Lancaster has overlooked Manu Tuilagi and Dylan Hartley for discipline problems.
