Wigan Athletic manager Uwe Rosler has played down speculation linking the club with a move for Cardiff City striker Nicky Maynard.
The 27-year-old has reportedly been told that he can leave the Premier League outfit by new Bluebirds boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Rosler has admitted that he would like to add more firepower to his squad during the transfer window.
"I will try and bring in one or two loan signings," he told talkSPORT. "There is some interest in a few players and that [loan deals] is the way we will go forward in January.
"We will not discuss our targets in the media but it is right we want to strengthen in certain areas and one of those areas is up front.
"Not only Nicky has been mentioned but other names and we will speak about concrete names when we have the signature."
Maynard has scored once in 10 appearances for Cardiff this season.
