Carlton Cole pleased by "brilliant" West Ham United win

West Ham striker Carlton Cole hails his side's "brilliant" win over Burnley in the Premier League.

West Ham United striker Carlton Cole has described his side's win away to Burnley as "brilliant".

The Hammers moved up to fourth place in the Premier League table on Saturday thanks to a 3-1 victory at Turf Moor.

Summer signings Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia both scored for the visitors before Cole came off the bench to seal the win with his second goal of the season.

"It was a brilliant win away from home and another three points that we needed," he told the club's official website. "We knew it wouldn't be easy and we had to set our stall out early and make sure they didn't score.

"As the game went on we knew we could break them down and that's what the boys did, so fair play to all the lads involved. The fans are always giving 100% support to us and all we can do it reward them with goals and wins. That's what we're doing at the moment and I know they're loving it."

West Ham continue their Premier League campaign next Saturday when they welcome champions Manchester City to Upton Park.
