Graeme Jones appointed assistant head coach at West Bromwich Albion

Graeme Jones is appointed as West Bromwich Albion's new assistant head coach alongside Darren Moore after leaving his position with the Belgium national side.

West Bromwich Albion have confirmed the appointment of Graeme Jones as their new assistant head coach following his successful stint with the Belgium national team.

Jones, alongside Roberto Martinez, helped guide the Red Devils to a third-place finish at this summer's World Cup finals in Russia.

The 48-year-old has left his role with Belgium to link up with lifelong friend Darren Moore, however, having played with him at Doncaster Rovers.

Moore is "delighted" to have pulled off the coaching coup, just three days before West Brom begin their Championship campaign with a home match against Bolton Wanderers.

"Graeme and I have never been out of contact since those first days together at Doncaster and I cannot tell you how delighted I am to have him alongside me," he told the club's official website.

"He has all the right qualities as a man and all the right qualities as a coach. His attention to detail, his career record, and his qualities as a human being are exactly why I was determined he join me.

"He is an attack-minded coach and while I know what I want from our forward play, I believe Graeme can deliver that with precision."

Jones also previously worked with Martinez at Swansea City, Wigan Athletic and Everton.
