Aaron Ramsey: 'Wales can compete at Euro 2016'

Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey stresses that he and his international colleagues will travel to Euro 2016 confident of beating Europe's elite.

Aaron Ramsey has claimed that Europe's elite will want to avoid Wales in the group-stage draw for Euro 2016 next summer.

Chris Coleman's charges booked their ticket to France for what will be the nation's first major tournament in 58 years after sealing automatic qualification from Group B.

They lost 2-0 to Bosnia-Herzegovina on Saturday for what was their first defeat of the campaign, and Ramsey says that the Welsh - who sit eighth in the FIFA rankings - have the potential to ruffle feathers.

"We are not going to France to enjoy ourselves. We aren't going to make up the numbers," he is quoted as saying by The Mirror. "We have been really difficult to beat and that can be dangerous in a tournament like that.

"The best countries around Europe like to get the ball and attack and we can exploit that on the counter attack. We are really looking forward to that.

"We have individuals who can make a difference and create something out of nothing and score goals so we can go there with a lot of expectation."

Wales, who sit second in the group, two points behind Belgium, conclude their campaign by hosting Andorra in Cardiff on Tuesday night.
