Liverpool will reportedly block any potential transfer for backup goalkeeper Simon Mignolet following Loris Karius's recent loan move to Turkish club Besiktas.

Liverpool will reportedly block any potential transfer for backup goalkeeper Simon Mignolet following Loris Karius's recent loan move to Turkish club Besiktas.

The Reds signed former Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker for a fee of £66m in the summer, resulting in Besiktas moving for Karius on a two-year loan deal.

The Guardian reports that Mignolet has been told that he will serve as deputy to Alisson for the season following the departure of Karius.

The report adds that Mignolet wants regular first-team football and had potential loans to Fulham and Napoli collapse during the transfer window.

Mignolet joined Liverpool in 2013 for a fee of £9m, making 155 appearances for the Merseyside club.
