Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle United.
The North Londoners emerged as the frontrunners to snap up the France international towards the closing stages of the transfer window after the player decided against a move to Everton.
The 27-year-old earlier claimed that he had put pen to paper on a five-year contract at White Hart Lane, and the club have now confirmed that the deal has gone through more than 40 minutes after the deadline.
Spurs are understood to have parted with a £30m fee to sign Sissoko, although they will reportedly pay five instalments of £6m.
Sissoko, who had previously expressed a desire to join Tottenham's North London rivals Arsenal, will wear the number 17 shirt for Spurs.
The Euro 2016 star made 133 appearances for the Magpies, scoring 12 goals.
