Former Scotland centre-back Gary Caldwell has backed the country's current boss Gordon Strachan to keep his job despite the Lions' recent loss to England.
Gareth Southgate's side heaped more pressure on Strachan following a comfortable 3-0 victory over the Scots on Friday night in their World Cup qualifier, but Caldwell has since stood up to defend Scotland's under-fire coach.
"He's got great experience, great passion for the country and for football and he backs his players," Caldwell, according to BBC Sport.
"He showed a real backing for his players because they are giving him everything.
"Sometimes in football a little bit of quality can beat you, but he sees a lot from this group. It's a relatively new group of players."
Scotland currently sit second from bottom in Group F, having collected just four points from four games.
