Real Madrid have reportedly entered advanced negotiations to sign Boca Juniors midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur.
Los Blancos were recently banned from registering new players by FIFA, but that two-window punishment does not come into force until the summer.
As a result they are still permitted to recruit Bentancur, who will cost them £7.7m, according to Marca.
The report adds that Madrid's scouting team have been monitoring the 18-year-old's development over the last 12 months.
The Uruguayan was part of the Boca squad that won the Argentine Primera Division title last year.
