Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has described his El Clasico debut on Wednesday night as "a dream".

The 19-year-old Frenchman scored his first goal of the season for Los Blancos as they drew 1-1 with Barcelona in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"It's a game I will always remember; it is a dream at only 19 years," Varane told reporters. "I'm happy with my performance and the team."

Varane has made 14 appearances in all competitions for Madrid this season.
