Nacho: 'Rafael Benitez can count on me'

Real Madrid defender Nacho insists that he can play anywhere across the back four as head coach Rafael Benitez looks for a solution to his injury woes in defence.

Real Madrid defender Nacho has said that head coach Rafael Benitez 'can count on him' to play anywhere across the back four.

Los Blancos will enter Wednesday's Champions League game away to Malmo without first-choice defenders Sergio Ramos, Pepe and Danilo, while Marcelo has also emerged as a late injury doubt.

Nacho, however, has insisted that he can fill in anywhere across the backline, including left-back.

"I'm very excited and eager to get three points. All I want is to play a great game and keep a clean sheet," AS quotes Nacho as saying.

"I try to do my best when I play and train so I can get minutes. I haven't had what I have wanted, but I enjoy it. I haven't spoken with Benitez on whether I can replace Marcelo, but he knows he can count on me in any of the four positions in defence."

Real Madrid opened their Champions League Group A campaign with a 4-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk last time out.
