Matuidi: 'Ligue 1 race not over'

Blaise Matuidi refuses to accept that Paris Saint-Germain are favourites for the Ligue 1 title.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi has insisted that the Ligue 1 title race is not over, despite Les Parisiens leading the away with 12 matches left to play.

Matuidi has claimed, however, that Montpellier's recent dropped points have given Carlo Ancelotti's side confidence.

"It was good for the confidence. But we also know that it's not over yet with 12 Ligue 1 matches to play. It's very tight. We have a good gap on the pre-season favourites such as Marseille and Lyon," the 24-year-old told the club's official website.

"Montpellier aren't giving up, though, and we need to focus on ourselves. We can't forget about Lille either. But we are in control of our own destiny."

Matuidi joined PSG from Saint-Etienne in 2011.
