Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has praised young keeper Tim Krul after his performance during Chelsea's 3-0 victory on Saturday.
Despite letting in three goals, Pardew said that the Dutch international was his best man on the pitch.
"I think Tim probably feels absolutely brilliant, the way he's played. But to have three goals conceded against his name, blimey, that must hurt, too," Pardew said.
"So part of him will be hurting and part of him should be very proud. He was our best player. He's had to back up the judgement we made on him at the start of the season, but he's done it.
"He's been brilliant."
The 23-year-old joined the Magpies as a teenager in 2006 and established himself as Newcastle's number one towards the end of last season.
