Report: John Carver to remain in charge of Newcastle United until end of season

Newcastle United will reportedly stick with John Carver as caretaker manager until the end of the season.

John Carver will reportedly be named Newcastle United's head coach for the rest of the season.

Carver, who turned 50 earlier this month, has been in caretaker charge of the Magpies since Alan Pardew left for Crystal Palace at the start of January.

According to multiple reports this afternoon, the Newcastle board have been unable to attract any of their top targets so will stick with Carver for their final 16 Premier League games.

Carver is yet to register a win since Pardew left with three defeats and a draw in his four games at the helm.

Two of the club's top targets to replace Pardew were reportedly Frank de Boer of Ajax and Derby County's Steve McClaren, but neither could be tempted by the post midway through the season.
