Ian Holloway: 'No chance of Wilfried Zaha return'

Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway insists that there is no chance of persuading Manchester United to let Wilfreid Zaha return to Selhurst Park on loan.

Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has declared that he does not see there being any possibility of Wilfried Zaha returning to the club on loan in January.

Zaha left Selhurst Park to join Manchester United after helping the Eagles secure promotion in May, but has yet to make a Premier League appearance for the Red Devils.

Holloway believes that speculation over a loan return is misplaced, insisting that he is focused on the options at his disposal as Palace look for a change of fortunes on their return to the top flight.

He told the South London Press: "David Moyes has his own issues at Manchester United, so if we were to go shouting about wanting him back on loan, I don't think we will ever get him back.

"Besides, we have options, Jason Puncheon can play either side and in the pocket as well as in central midfield. Yannick Bolasie is coming back and will do well.

"It is all about having a squad that is strong enough to make changes and sustain good performances. At the moment, we are not beating people. Jimmy Kebe might have the chance to do that. And we know Jerome Thomas can."

Palace have struggled for goals without Zaha so far this season, scoring five times in seven league games to sit 19th in the table.
