Jose Gaya 'close to new Valencia deal'

In-demand teenage full-back Jose Gaya reveals that he is close to signing a new long-term deal with Valencia.

Spanish defender Jose Gaya has revealed that he is close to signing a new long-term deal with Valencia.

The 19-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best young prospects in European football, with his form this season leading to a host of interest.

A clutch of the world's biggest clubs – including Manchester United and Real Madrid – have been linked with the teenager, but Gaya has claimed that he is close to a new long-term contract.

"The renewal is very advanced. All that's left are the final little details," Gaya told Mundo Deportivo.

It is understood that the new deal will run until 2021.
