Manchester United defender Harry Maguire could be close to signing a boot sponsorship deal worth £700,000 a season, according to reports.
The England international became the world's most expensive defender earlier this month when he joined the Red Devils from Leicester City.
Maguire's previous boot sponsorship with Nike expired at the end of last season and now The Sun reports that along with Puma, Adidas and Under Armour, they are trying to sign him to a mammoth new deal.
The report suggests that this major increase in value is partly because the former Hull City defender is seen as a 'wholesome' role model after his performances at last year's World Cup.
Of the companies reportedly chasing Maguire's signature, Adidas are believed to hold an advantage as they sponsor United's kits this season and snapped up fellow summer signing Daniel James after his switch from Swansea City.
