Manchester City have reportedly made Leicester City a third bid for Riyad Mahrez.
The Algerian, who has contributed eight goals and seven assists in 24 Premier League fixtures this season, has previously expressed an interest in leaving the King Power Stadium.
However, boss Claude Puel has stressed that he would like Mahrez to remain with the Foxes until the conclusion of the current campaign.
According to Sky Sports News, the Premier League leaders have been in contact with Leicester over a potential swoop for Mahrez, who in turn is believed to have handed in a transfer request.
The report goes on to claim that "discussions over money" are taking place on Tuesday night, the day before deadline day, but add that City's offer remains "well below their valuation".
Mahrez still has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at Leicester.
