John Aldridge: 'Under-21 European Championships will help Liverpool players'

Liverpool legend John Aldridge believes that the ongoing Under-21 European Championships will benefit the club.

Liverpool legend John Aldridge has expressed his belief that the club will benefit from the ongoing Under-21 European Championships.

The Reds have a large contingent of players partaking in the tournament, including four in the England squad and Fabio Borini for Italy.

Despite England's early exit following defeats to Italy and Norway, Aldridge believes that any experience of an international tournament is good for the players.

"It's great for the lads to be involved in an international tournament," he told Liverpool's official website.

"They can only learn from the experience this summer. I went to a World Cup when I was 35 or 36 and I was still learning then. As far as I'm concerned the more they play the better."

Andre Wisdom, Jordan Henderson, Jack Robinson and Jonjo Shelvey are all part of the England squad that will face Israel in their final group game tomorrow.
