Liverpool full-back Jose Enrique believes that the Reds should focus on this weekend's FA Cup semi-final against Everton rather than the Premier League.
The Reds have had a torrid domestic season, winning just five matches at Anfield and recording six defeats from their last eight games in this season's league campaign.
"In the league we have to finish as high as possible but it's true that the league isn't that important now," said Enrique. "But the cup is. We are playing for the semi-final. In the league we aren't playing for anything.
"It's a semi-final and anything can happen. Playing against Everton is one of
the best games we could have. It'll be amazing. Both teams can win. We'll both be going at it 200%.
"It's a special game for everyone. We have to win. We already have a cup in our pocket. It's true we wanted to play in the Champions League next season but that opportunity has gone now."
Before Liverpool take on Everton at Wembley, Kenny Dalglish's side will have to go up against Blackburn Rovers, who are fighting to stay in the top flight.
