Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish believes that there would be a "problem" if Andy Carroll wasn't nervous about facing his former club Newcastle United this weekend.
The Geordie striker returns to the North East outfit for the first time since making a £35m move to Anfield last January, as does Reds teammate Jose Enrique.
The 23-year-old recently claimed that he was "nervous" about coming up against his former employers following an inconsistent season with the Reds.
"It's not a bad thing, is it? If you weren't nervous you'd have a bit of a problem," said Dalglish. "In my case it was always best to be nervous rather than totally laid back.
"I don't think anyone can be laid back when they go and play at the club that gave him his opportunity in football and turned him into a professional footballer. For him and Jose it will be an exciting time to go back."
The two clubs go head to head at the Sports Direct Arena on Sunday afternoon.
