Claudio Ranieri: 'Leicester City will cope without Steve Walsh'

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri insists that his side will cope without former head of recruitment Steve Walsh following his move to Everton.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has insisted that his side will cope with the loss of former head of recruitment Steve Walsh.

Walsh, who also doubled up as an assistant at the King Power Stadium, yesterday completed a move to become Everton's new director of football.

The 51-year-old has been credited with discovering the likes of Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and N'Golo Kante, all key players in the Foxes' title-winning side of last season, but Ranieri insists that they will go on with their "plan".

"I worked with Steve at Chelsea a long time ago. I was very pleased to work with him also here at Leicester," the Italian told reporters.

"Now he wants to go and I can only say thank you. He worked so well here. But now we have our plan and will continue with our plan. Without me, without the players, football always goes on."

Leicester will take on Celtic in an International Champions Cup match in Glasgow tomorrow.
