Riyad Mahrez pleased to pass "tough" Aston Villa test

Leicester City flyer Riyad Mahrez admits to being at fault for one of Aston Villa's goals, but claims that he is delighted to have picked up three more points.

Riyad Mahrez has conceded that Leicester City found life "very tough" in their 3-2 win over Aston Villa.

The unbeaten Foxes climbed up to second place in the Premier League table after staging a comeback from two goals down at the King Power Stadium.

In-form Mahrez played a key part in two of his side's three second-half goals, but he admits to being at fault for Carles Gil's strike which looked certain to have won it for the Villans.

Speaking to Sky Sports News after the game, the 24-year-old said: "We came from far. It was a difficult game, especially in the first half.

"In the second half we did very well and scored three beautiful goals. Villa's second goal was my fault. I'm happy to help the team like that. We don't know how we will do this season. This game was very difficult. We'll see where we can go."

Leicester return to action next weekend with a trip to face Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.
