Michael Dawson has lamented Hull City's season as their relegation from the Premier League was confirmed by a goalless draw with Manchester United on Sunday.
The stalemate at the KC Stadium condemned the Tigers to Championship football next term despite what Dawson felt was a good display, although the ex-Tottenham Hotspur defender accepted that performances hadn't been good enough throughout the campaign.
"It wasn't today that sent us down," the defender reflected to BBC Sport. "I felt we went out there and performed [well] with the pressure that was on us.
"Maybe there was no pressure and that's why we played so well and performed better because it was out of our hands.
"Manchester United came here with nothing to play for and we huffed and puffed and it's been like that all season."
The draw meant that Steve Bruce's side failed to score in 17 games this term.
