Fulham have announced that captain Brede Hangeland has committed his future to the Premier League outfit.
The 31-year-old, who had originally planned to discuss his future at the end of the season, has put pen to paper on a two-year extension with an option of a further year.
"I'm so happy, I'm delighted," Hangeland told the club's official website. "It's taken a long time but we're there now. I hope the club is happy and I'm certainly really happy to have signed.
"I've loved my time at Fulham, I've felt right at home and I couldn't really see myself leaving, and to know that I'm here for a few more years gives me a great feeling."
The defender moved to Craven Cottage from FC Copenhagen in 2008.
