Everton striker Cenk Tosun hails "perfect" manager Marco Silva

Everton striker Cenk Tosun hopes for a successful first full campaign in the Premier League under Marco Silva after being put through his toughest pre-season to date.

Cenk Tosun has said that he is "looking forward" to featuring under Marco Silva next season as the new Everton manager's style of play is "perfect" for him.

The Turkey international blew hot and cold in his first four months at Goodison Park, requiring some time to get going following a £27m switch from Besiktas in January.

Tosun has hit the ground running in pre-season, however, as he helped himself to four goals in Everton's club-record 22-0 win against Austrian minnows Irdning at the weekend.

Speaking to the Merseyside outfit's official website after that thumping victory, the 27-year-old admitted that he is already feeling a lot sharper.

"I had pre-seasons in Germany and in Turkey but this one is harder," he said. "He is a European manager but he thinks English. It feels great to play under him because he is always thinking offensively and it is perfect for a striker.

"I want to keep working hard under him and I'm looking forward to playing the first Premier League game. It feels nice to have a full pre-season with Everton.

"It helps me a lot because we are in every day with the lads. It feels nice. I joined in the winter and it was not easy for me. It was difficult to be straight into the Premier League but now with the pre-season I feel better, my body feels better. We have a hard pre-season but this is important for the league."

Tosun scored five goals in his 14 Premier League games during the second half of last season.
