Chelsea defender Patrick van Aanholt has reportedly emerged as a target for Sunderland.
Van Aanholt moved to the Blues in 2007, but much of his time at Stamford Bridge has been spent on loan at clubs in England and Holland.
According to BBC Newcastle, Chelsea are willing to sell the 23-year-old, who has just 12 months remaining on his contract, to the Black Cats, who are keen to strengthen the left side of their defence.
If the Netherlands international completes a move to the Stadium of Light, he will become Gus Poyet's fourth signing of the summer.
