Chelsea are reportedly still confident over securing a deal for RB Leipzig's Christopher Nkunku.
The Blues have been linked with the Frenchman for months and it was previously revealed that he had completed a medical in September, ahead of a potential summer switch to Stamford Bridge.
Graham Potter's side have lost four out of their last five games and have slipped to eighth in the Premier League but their form has not seemed to derail any potential move for the Leipzig forward.
According to 90min, there is a confidence at Chelsea that Nkunku's signing is all but finalised, and the focus is now on figuring out whether he will join the club in the January window or in the summer.
The former Paris Saint-Germain player has a £58m release clause in his contract which will become active next summer, but Chelsea have signalled a willingness to pay more immediately to get the deal over the line.
There is also an opportunity to spread the fee over a number of years and the club is taking steps to secure his signature ahead of other interested parties.
Nkunku will be present at the World Cup for France, as he was called up to Didier Deschamps's 26-man squad last week, as he looks to add to the eight caps he has already earned for the reigning world champions.
With 17 goals and four assists in 23 games this season, Nkunku has continued his strong form from last season when he scored 35 goals in all competitions which saw him finish 25th in the 2022 Ballon d'Or rankings.
