Jose Mourinho: 'Chelsea can still win Premier League title'

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho laughs off the notion that the Premier League champions are too far behind the pack to defend their title after two games played.

Jose Mourinho has shrugged off the notion that Chelsea's Premier League title bid suffered a blow after losing 3-0 at Manchester City this evening.

City flashed their credentials with an early statement as Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and Fernandinho humbled the champions at the Etihad.

Having drawn their opener with Swansea City last week, the defeat leaves Mourinho's men with one point from a possible six, but the Portuguese says that it is too early to discuss the title race.

"One point from six is better than zero and worse than two," he told Sky Sports News.

"I am okay in mathematics. Multiply 36 by three and I know how much it gives, I know the championship is more than mathematically open."

The Blues, who sit five points adrift of co-leaders City, travel to West Bromwich Albion next Sunday hoping for their first win.
