Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has backed Liverpool's big-money trio Andy Carroll, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson to come good at Anfield.
The 33-year-old, who moved to Stamford Bridge in an £11m deal from West Ham United in 2001, said that he understands the pressure that is weighing heavily upon their shoulders.
"I know what it's like when you make a big-money move and the problems there can be when you have to adapt," the England international told The Mirror.
"OK, so I never cost as much as Andy Carroll when I came from West Ham, but it still takes time to adjust. And in my first season with Chelsea, to be truthful, I didn't pull up any trees.
"I know how good Stewart and Jordan are as well. Liverpool spent a lot of money on the three of them. Although they have been given stick by some people, these are good players. I know. I have trained with them."
Liverpool are reported to have spent a combined £75m on the North East trio.
