Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has hinted that he may recall striker Fernando Torres for Monday night's match with Manchester City.
The Spaniard, who has endured an unsettled year at Stamford Bridge since his £50m move from Liverpool, has recently lost his place to Didier Drogba in the starting lineup.
"At the moment, Didier has had his run," said Villas-Boas. "Fernando has had his run in the past. It doesn't mean that we don't trust his abilities.
"By the way he's training, he's nearer to competing with Didier every time.
"They are very, very near each other and, again, it's just for me to decide what's best for the team."
The Blues will move up to third in the Premier League table with a win at Stamford Bridge.
