The wife of Clarke Carlisle has revealed that the 35-year-old is in a "stable" condition in hospital.
The 35-year-old former Burnley defender was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary yesterday morning following a collision with a lorry on the A64 near Bishopthorpe.
There had been no official word regarding Carlisle's condition, but his spouse Gemma has now confirmed that despite being "very poorly", her husband is "alive and stable".
Clarke's very poorly but he's alive and stable. Best Christmas gift we as a family could wish for. Thanks again.
