Summer signing Ryan Fredericks to leave Bristol City after 26 days

Ryan Fredericks is to leave Bristol City and return to London after less than one month with the club.

Bristol City's Ryan Fredericks is to leave the club despite only joining this summer.

The wing-back signed for Steve Cotterill's side from Tottenham Hotspur on August 6, but will now return to London with another club due to personal reasons.

"Ryan will be leaving us. It only happened late last night," Cotterill told the club website.

"He's leaving us for personal reasons and will be joining another London club. He's having a medical today and will join the club for the same fee that we paid for him.

"We wish him good luck with that. We understand, sometimes things happen. We're one light on the bench today, but you can only use three substitutes anyway."

Fredericks, 22, has previously played for Brentford, Millwall and Middlesbrough on loan and made four appearances for Spurs before his departure.
