Steve Cotterill heads League One Manager of the Month shortlist

Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill leads the nominations for September's Manager of the Month award in League One.

The Robins continued their fine start to the season as four wins and a draw kept them firmly at the top of the table.

Swindon Town's Mark Cooper is also among the contenders for the award after he guided his side up to second place in the standings with 10 points from a possible 12.

Meanwhile, Rochdale boss Keith Hill takes a deserved place on the shortlist as four victories put Dale in touch with the playoff positions.

Lee Johnson of Oldham Athletic completes the quartet of nominees, with the 33-year-old overseeing the Latics' rise into the top half of the table following an unbeaten run of five matches.

The winner of the award is due to be announced on Friday.
