Bournemouth close to signing Alessandro Cannataro?

Former Inter Milan midfielder Alessandro Cannataro is reportedly in talks over a deal to sign for Bournemouth on a one-year deal after a trial.

Bournemouth are reportedly in talks over a deal to bring former Inter Milan youngster Alessandro Cannataro to the Vitality Stadium.

The 20-year-old midfielder was released by the San Siro club this summer, and has allegedly been tracked ever since by Premier League clubs including Leicester City and Crystal Palace.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Eddie Howe's side have offered the player a one-year deal after he impressed in a friendly against Reading earlier in September as part of a trial at the club.

Leicester were thought to be favourites for the Italian's signature, and Cannataro himself claimed in August that there was already an offer on the table from the Foxes.

"I am talking even with some other teams, since I came to England a lot of teams started to show interest in me, they discovered me," he told The Independent last month.

"[Leicester] were satisfied from my trial and offered me a contract to play for them. But I still cannot tell anything about my next decision.

"The way of playing and of training [in England] would be perfect for me. They always give 100%, always concentrated and give their best in every match. This is what suits me best."

Bournemouth have started their first ever top-flight season in English football with just one win from their first five games after losing 3-1 at fellow promoted side Norwich City on Saturday.
