Blackburn Rovers 'sack Michael Appleton after 67 days in charge'

Blackburn Rovers reportedly call time on Michael Appleton's term at Ewood Park after 67 days in charge as manager.

Blackburn Rovers have reportedly parted company with manager Michael Appleton after just 67 days in charge at Ewood Park.

The 37-year-old, who was appointed as Henning Berg's successor in January, was at the helm of the Lancashire club for 15 games, of which he won four, drew five and lost six.

While there has been no official confirmation from the Championship outfit, it is understood that reserve team manager Gary Bowyer will assume the role until the end of the season, according to BBC Sport.

Blackburn, who are currently 18th in the league table, are due to take on Appleton's former club Blackpool this weekend.
