Birmingham City announce the signing of midfielder Darren Ambrose from Crystal Palace on a two-year contract.

Birmingham City have confirmed the signing of Crystal Palace midfielder Darren Ambrose on a two-year deal.

The Championship outfit were poised to clinch the 28-year-old after reports stated earlier today that the playmaker had opted to join up with new manager Lee Clark.

Ambrose told the club's official website: "I'm absolutely delighted and buzzing at the moment. I can't wait to get going.

"It's been a hectic few days to get it done but this is a positive move for myself at this point in my career and I can't wait. Hopefully we can improve as a team on last year and go one better."

Ambrose, who netted 10 goals in 42 appearances with Palace last season, has an option on a further year.
