Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti is supposedly keen to see out the remainder of his Camp Nou contract.
The World Cup-winning France international was strongly tipped to exit the club while Joan Laporta and co were trying to negotiate a new deal for Lionel Messi, who has now completed a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite Messi's emotional departure, Barca are still seeking to trim their wage bill amid a desperate financial situation, and Umtiti is understood to be one of the names on the chopping block.
The 27-year-old's deal with the Catalan giants does not expire until 2023, though, and Mundo Deportivo reports that he is keen to remain at the club for the next two years.
However, the report adds that Umtiti would consider a departure if a foreign club challenging for the league title came knocking, with Ligue 1 side Lyon thought to be interested in re-signing him.
Umtiti only made 16 appearances in all competitions during an injury-hit 2020-21 campaign, starting a mere six La Liga games under Ronald Koeman.
