Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo's record vs. Atletico Madrid

Sports Mole looks at Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo's goalscoring record against Atletico Madrid ahead of Wednesday's Champions League game.

Juventus make the trip to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last 16 this week looking for away goals ahead of the reverse fixture in Turin.

Massimiliano Allegri's side have not always produced their best form since the turn of the year, but the Serie A champions have won their last two games with back-to-back clean sheets.

Cristiano Ronaldo is Juventus's key man going into the game at Wanda Metropolitano, and the Portuguese superstar is no stranger to encounters with Atletico due to his nine-year spell at city rivals Real Madrid.

Ahead of this week's meeting, Sports Mole assesses how the forward has fared in his previous outings against the La Liga side.

Ronaldo has faced Atletico on as many as 31 occasions, and the first of those appearances came in the colours of Real during the early months of 2010 as his side prevailed by a 3-2 scoreline without him providing a goal or assist.

However, Ronaldo has gone on to put together a remarkable individual record against Atletico with 22 goals and eight assists coming in all competitions.

Three hat-tricks have come during that period, the most notable one being the treble netted in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final in 2017.

Ronaldo had previously netted a hat-trick at Vicente Calderon earlier that same season, but the 34-year-old has failed to score in four of his last half-a-dozen appearances against Atletico.

In total, Ronaldo helped Real to 15 wins and eight draws against Atletico during his time at the Bernabeu.
