Micah Richards slams Arsenal Fan TV

Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards believes that AFTV is negatively affecting Arsenal's confidence amid their woeful spell of form.

Former Premier League title winner Micah Richards believes that popular YouTube channel Arsenal Fan TV is contributing to the Gunners' woeful form.

AFTV has gained a huge following in recent years and now boasts over one million subscribers on YouTube, but the channel has come under criticism for its negative attitude towards Arsenal players from several high-profile members.

The Gunners are only four points clear of the relegation places, having endured their worst start to a season for 46 years, and Richards believes that AFTV is having a serious effect on the Gunners' confidence.

Speaking to Sky Sports News after Arsenal's EFL Cup defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday, Richards said: "You know AFTV, I'm a massive fan of it, I love it.

"But for the players, the amount of pressure - you could be scrolling through and your name pops up and someone's being horrible and it can affect your confidence.

"These players now look at social media. Players work hard, trying to be better every day but there's negativity..."

Having recently been dumped out of the EFL Cup, Arsenal next welcome Chelsea to the Emirates for Boxing Day's London derby in the Premier League.
