Javi Martinez expects improved Arsenal

Bayern Munich's Javi Martinez is expecting an improved Arsenal side from the one that they beat in the Champions League last season.

Bayern Munich's Javi Martinez expects Arsenal to be a much more difficult proposition when the two teams collide in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Bayern edged out the Premier League outfit last year en route to winning the tournament but the Spaniard has said that the Gunners will be a tougher side this term.

The Mirror quotes him as saying: "This game is different to last year. Arsenal is never easy but they are a better team this time.

"They made us suffer in Munich last year and we know how important it is to score in London. If we can do that, then we believe we can go through.

"But they have better players, a confidence and Mesut Ozil is a decisive player for any club. I am still surprised Real Madrid let him go."

Bayern are looking to become the first ever team to retain the Champions League this season.
