Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes ruled out for six weeks

Jonny Hayes is ruled out for six weeks after injuring his collarbone in the League Cup final victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes has been ruled out for six weeks after injuring his collarbone.

The 26-year-old was replaced in the opening minutes of Sunday's Scottish League Cup final victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Celtic Park, following a challenge with Josh Meekings.

"Jonny is out for six weeks which is really disappointing," Dons manager Derek McInnes confirmed on RedTV. "We thought that might have been the case on Sunday.

"He has disrupted his collarbone and while it hasn't actually fractured, it is still going to take a while to settle down."

Hayes has made 33 appearances for the club this season, scoring five goals.
